This article is from today’s Moscow Pullman Daily News.
The project was initially studied by my husband – Mike Lowry’s – U of Idaho Engineering class. And then he presented it to City Council 3 times in order to explain the project’s importance for the city (both as a key segment of the Paradise Path, and also as a connector for residential neighborhoods to Moscow Businesses).
As Safe Routes to School coordinator, I have had many parents express their concern for their children as they attempt to cross the Troy Highway as they walk or would like to walk to school. There is currently only one crosswalk on a long stretch of highway so this underpass will be crucial for kids and all Moscow pedestrians and cyclists. After all, if its safe for kids, it’s safe for everyone 🙂
Thank you do getting this project going for Moscow Mike!
