Come on let’s walk to school!
Students and parents in Moscow are invited to join the rest of the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day on Oct. 8th. To see what other cities are doing, go to: http://walkbiketoschool.org/
Students are invited to wear international clothing, carry flags, make banners and have FUN while walking to school. Students are also encouraged to walk with an adult and friends to hve safety in numbers. Schools can also organize Walking School Bus if they’d like. To learn what a Walking School Bus is, go to: https://sr2smoscow.com/2012/01/15/what-is-a-walking-school-bus/
Can’t walk the whole way to school? Park and walk into the school grounds from a few blocks away. This annual event is orgnized by Moscow Safe Routes to School for students and families to encourage families to practice active travel together.
Walking and biking to school encourages kids to be active, helps them practice safe way-faring skills, lessens emissions around our schools and builds our community as people get together for this community event.
