CALL TO ARTISTS!
Safe Routes to School – a national program meant to encourage students to walk and bike to school – is looking for student art about active travel! Active travel is any way you travel that uses calories! Walking, biking, skating, sledding, boarding, you name it, however you get to school without a car, that’s what we want you to do art about!
Who: Any K-8 students who would like to participate and have their work exhibited at City Hall!
What: We are looking for art that relates to how you get to school actively (aka. not by car). Tell us what you see along the way, a poem you made up on your walk (only hand written poems please) a frame of things you found, words about moving your body, what you like about actively traveling to school etc. etc. etc.
Media forms: Anything that can fit onto a 8×11 sheet of paper mounted on foam board. Please hand write all written words (since we like hands more than computers, please do the art yourself!)
When: Artwork must be completed and delivered to City Hall by Tuesday, March 27th 2012
